TESTIMONIALS

Over his twenty-five years with Conde Nast, Alberto spent eleven in Vogue's art department, where he helped to create layouts for several of the magazine's most recognizable features (the Editor's Letter, Up Front, Nostalgia, Life With Andre, People Are Talking About, Index, Last Look, and more). Alberto was also instrumental in the editing and color-correction of our covers and fashion spreads; he assisted in the production of SIPs such as Vogue Living; and he made notable contributions to the production and design of five of our most popular books: Vogue Weddings: Brides, Dresses, Designers; Vogue: The Covers; Vogue Colors A to Z-A Fashion Coloring Book; Vogue & The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute: Parties, Exhibitions, People; and Vogue Living: Houses, Gardens, People.

I would recommend Alberto Orta as one of the most talented designers I have ever worked with. I have known him since he came to Vogue in 2006 as an Art Director and Deputy Design Director. During that.time, we worked together on five Knopf books beginning in 2007 which have all remained in print and continue to sell extremely well which is an enormous tribute to his talent, evident in the quality and beauty of the design of each of these books. Alberto was able to create drama and beauty on every page with the just the right juxtapositions, scale, and pacing. The first book was Vogue Living: Houses, Gardens, People, followed by Vogue Weddings: Brides, Dresses, Designers; The World in Vogue: People, Parties, Places,· Vogue Colors A-Zand most recently Vogue Living: Country, City, Coast.

I had the pleasure to work with Alberto Orta at Vogue, where he was the Deputy Design Director and I was the Culture Editor, for eleven years. I felt very fortunate that among his many responsibilities at the magazine he was in charge of designing my section-People Are Talking About. With irrepressible flair, he created stylishly arresting layouts every month that were perfectly in tune with the ever-changing cultural landscape. Brilliant, kind, and endlessly inventive, Alberto makes everything he touches, whether it's a cover, a magazine spread, a website design, or a book layout, look fresh, elegant, and effortless. He was a wonderful colleague to me-and to everyone at Vogue-and remains a trusted friend whom I would highly recommend to any position.
